Funny what memories stick with us about certain people. Ways in which their personalities made a mark, and live on in others, I suppose.
I was just thinking last night that when babies are born, they are blank slates, ready to absorb, but when people die, they are taking away so much real value - their knowledge, their history, their impact upon the world. I guess it's that 'full circle' thing, and you can't not be okay with it - it's just how it is - but it's hard to bear the loss.
